Industrial Design
Design and construction in harmony
The design process is an integral part of the development of a product right from the start. We accompany the customer from the first idea to the finished product. It is important to meet the needs of the user as well as the general conditions of the manufacturer. We create new concepts and give visions a concrete shape. In doing so, we always find individual solutions for you and use our cross-industry experience in design as well as the interdisciplinary cooperation between engineers, manufacturers and designers.
Each project is distinctive and is developed together with the customer. In an analysis phase, the product environment is first examined and customer-specific features are worked out. Their influences are reflected in the product. The subsequent conception is based on the specification sheet and connects creation with technical requirements for a strategic product orientation, before the first design ideas in the form of concept studies and visualizations bring the idea to life. Together, the product is detailed in presentations and agreements and finally finalized for handover to the engineers. During the entire development process there is an active exchange between designers and engineers.
- First design ideas in the form of scribbles
- Design of interior/exterior and their components
- as 3D design and renderings
- Cockpit design: combination of design, ergonomics and haptics

Control Development
Control Development
The increasing automation in the field of automotive engineering, both to support the driver and as a basis for autonomous driving, increases the relevance and influence of control technology in vehicle development. This is one of the core competences of HÖRMANN Vehicle Engineering.
A high degree of flexibility, the ability to update - on demand & in the field - as well as the adaptation to changed operating conditions and functionalities offer great potential for sustainable products.
Safety-related software development in accordance with EN 50128 / 50657 is becoming more and more important and interacts with the RAMS and electrical development departments to ensure that a safe and approvable product is created at the end of the development process.
Control development covers the complete development cycle:
- Creation of control system concepts for vehicle and subsystems
- TCMS development for the entire vehicle (control, display, monitoring and diagnostic functions
- Integration of subsystems into the vehicle control system
- Software development according to EN 50128 / 50657, programming according to IEC 6113
- Software test - module test and hardware/software integration test
- Software update and adaptation

Electrical Development
Electrical Development
Energy supply, energy distribution and their implementation in various functions are essential in automotive engineering and are completed by the electrical control tasks in the vehicle.
At HÖRMANN Vehicle Engineering, classical electrical development is very closely linked to control system development. This means that functional control concepts for the vehicle and its subsystems are implemented both on the hardware and software side as required. The integration of new technologies in the field of vehicle drives as well as the energy supply of the vehicle itself is at the forefront of innovation management - supported by the knowledge gained from national and international research projects.
- Development of the electrical vehicle architecture based on vehicle functions
- Systems engineering with system/component specifications
- Design and mechanical integration of electrical vehicle subsystems
- Design and detailing of electrical systems
- Analyses of grounding, potential equalization and EMC incl. simulation
- Circuit diagram preparation incl. wiring documents
The electrical system development is an important condition and component for the overall vehicle development. Close cooperation of mechanical and electrical design is a guarantee for a safe and high-quality vehicle result.
